I enjoyed your podcasting workshop at NCCE in Spokane. I shared this mashup with our district technology group– a couple of comments: Great to hear about different kinds of podcasts and how they can be used. — might be good to have more “video” or screen shots or something to keep attention. My comment was the one from LA Schools had too much music at the beginning..
I think it would be great to have more of these– maybe even topic specific??
Thanks for putting it together– it sure opened my eyes (and ears) to the possibilities of podcasts.
Thanks for the input. I’m glad you liked this. I got good feedback from others as well, so I’m going to be doing a bi-monthtly mashup with a different theme for each show. The first epiode will feature history-related podcasts. Other episodes will have mashups on different content areas, profesional development topics, technology, museum productions, etc.
I agree with the comment that there is too much music in the LA podcast intro. (I had decided not to edit individual’s content in my compilation though, so I left it as it was.)
On the video/screen shot suggestion, some of the future episodes will have video, but most will likely be audio only (because that’s what most podcasts are and it also makes the content more accessible to more people because of device contraints and format issues). I really just did the video version of that first one so that people in my session could see the podcast title and web site without having to go to the web site.
Stay tuned for more of this. We should be launching a new web sire for this by April 1.
